A registration number is generated after successful GDS registration and candidates should saved it securely. It is required for further login and application submission process, and the India Post also send the registration number on the registered mobile number and email ID.

Applicants must provide their own active mobile number during India Post GDS registration, as the number is verified through OTP and may be used for important communication. The same mobile number cannot be used to register another applicant.

Knowledge of the prescribed local language is an important eligibility requirement, and candidates must have studied the relevant local language up to Class 10. The required language varies according to the postal circle and post, so applicants should verify the language requirement before selecting their preferences.

India Post has clearly mentioned in its notification that only one GDS registration is permitted for each candidate. Duplicate or multiple registrations are not allowed, and creating another registration by changing basic details can result in cancellation of the application.
