IBPS PO Prelims Result 2026

The IBPS PO/MT-XVI recruitment is being conducted for Probationary Officer and Management Trainee vacancies in participating public sector banks. The latest vacancy figure is 7,565. The Preliminary Examination was conducted on August 22 and 23, 2026, while the Main Examination is scheduled for October 4. The Preliminary test consists of 100 questions for 100 marks and is divided into English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. Candidates qualifying through Prelims will move to the subsequent stages prescribed under the recruitment process.

The Preliminary Examination acts as the screening stage in the IBPS PO recruitment process. Candidates who meet the applicable qualifying requirements are shortlisted for the Main Examination. The Preliminary score itself does not form part of the final merit calculation. Therefore, the result is significant because it determines which candidates continue in the recruitment process rather than because the marks are directly carried forward. Candidates who qualify should immediately focus on the Mains syllabus, which has a considerably different structure and includes additional sections and a descriptive component.
